Towards an Enhanced Implementation of Printed Modular Distance Learning in the Philippines: A Meta-Synthesis

Implementing modular distance learning (MDL) in the Philippines remains problematic. We review studies on printed MDL to create themes for its enhanced implementation. A meta-synthesis of qualitative was executed, and a comprehensive search Google Scholar conducted. thematic synthesis performed, revealing four presences enhance implementation MDL, such as: structural; community; intervention; quality assurance. The structural presence underscores module designs that can capture students' interests learning, as well content articulate curricular competencies context, needs, situations. community highlights education is not sole responsibility students. Contrary common idea about providing modules students study independently, everyone's responsibility. family members teachers, sectors, have roles play must work together produce more desirable outcomes. intervention emphasizes instructional socio-emotional support help overcome academic personal difficulties foster positive supportive atmosphere. Quality assurance systematic actions planning, development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation processes ensure MDL's continuous improvement. provision includes meeting stakeholders' needs conforming desired outcomes or standards. Hence, officials may adopt identified orientation training activities MDL.
